reader prize! a room design from a design story

May 03, 2010

I'm thrilled to announce a rare Art Wall giveaway today! Lindsay from A Design Story has paired with Art Wall to offer one of our readers a free room re-design valued at $250.00.

Lindsay and her husband Kevin started A Design Story to offer clients (wherever they are in the world) access to good design. After consulting with clients, they puts together either a full room design or re-design, furniture layouts, or a paint color consultation. In addition to the online services, they also offer on-location services in Richmond, Va. and Sarasota, Fl.

If you are the winner of the give-away, you will receive a custom design board based on your room's measurements and photographs. You will also get a detail page listing the item prices, sources and other information. Just to clarify, the winner will receive the design only (not the actual furnishings). To enter, please leave a comment with the room in your home you would choose to re-do and why. If your reply doesn't link to a blog or an easy way to contact you, please leave your email address in the comment. The winner will be chosen via random.org and announced this Friday, May 7th. Comments close on Thursday the 6th at midnight.

I'd love to have some savvy design help with my guest bedroom. It is a sadly neglected part of my home, a mix of office, daughters old bedroom and left over furniture. Nothing matches and it is totally uninspiring! Help!

I would love some design help for our master bedroom. We will be redoing it in the near future and I don't know what I want to do with it.

I would love some help with my living room so that it becomes a room I actually want to spend time in with family and friends. It's outdated and the furniture in it belonged to my husband before we got married!!Yikes!!

My master bedroom is sad and neglected and I would be thrilled for some pro advice! I love that "modern beach" look, so amazing!

My bedroom! I think this is the room we all tend to decorate last. Mine has such potential -- a great french deco walnut bed, with a quilt in all shades of pinky reds that I think of as my flag. And then, there are the phone cords. And the pile of books and glasses on the floor. So sad!

I need serious help with our living room, we just moved into a new home and we have zero furniture in a beautiful room with large windows looking out on the backyard with multiple flower gardens. The furniture we had in our old house just doesn't work in this room and I would love some direction and help! Thanks!

This would be perfect for my bedroom, which I'm planning to re-do this summer. Thanks for the giveaway!

I would love advice and direction with my living room. We've been here three years and I'm stumped, so I haven't done a thing with it. One wall is taken up by a window, one by a fireplace, and a third is basically our entryway.

I would be ecstatic to win professional services!

I would love advice for my master bedroom. It is the room we always put off but the one that would mean to most to me. I need a place to relax and right now it just stressed me out. This is a great giveaway!

I would choose to redo my living room. That is where my husband and I spend most of our time. Although it is comfortable the way it is, I always find myself thinking about ways I could change it to make everything fit better.

I love reading the blog written by A Design Story, and would be more than happy to have a room design created by them!

I would redo my living room. It's sorely underused but its also the room in my house with the most potential.

Great giveaway! Hope this one is the winning entry! I would love guidance with the living room. Center of the house - we have some nice pieces that we bought for our old home and now feel the furniture doesn't work as well in this space.

So tough to pick just one room! I'd pick my office/guest/treadmill room. It's really the most undecorated room in the house. I'd like it to be a little more welcoming for our guests. Thanks for the giveaway!

Wow...what a great giveaway! I would choose my bedroom because that is the most challenging. It currently houses our regular bedroom items plus my hubby's entire library (4 book cases worth!)

I would love to re-do my bedroom that I share with my 6 month old girl! I am a single mom with a small budget and am in major need of help in this area. I love color and would like to make it more appealing for me and my baby.

I would like to re-do my living room. Nothing seems cohesive in that room and I am not sure how to pull it all together. I am looking for a charming room and somewhere for me to entertain friends. I hope this is the winning entry.

I would love some help with my bedroom. I started off strong with an attempt to make our bedroom reminiscent of our honeymoon in St. Lucia. I bought some good furniture with wicker accents, white bedding similar to what we had in our hotel, and painted the room bright green... We also have some blown up photos from our honeymoon. But the room is large and still looks bare. I don't know how to bring it all together. I suck at accessorizing and using accent furniture!

I'd love to have help with my 2 adjoining bedrooms...I don't know where to put everything so that it makes sense! Right now, one has the bed and my husband's dresser, while the other has a couch, coffee table, and my dresser.

I accidentally hit "reject" for this comment in my iphone--
babalisme has left a new comment on your post "reader prize! a room design from a design story":

My daughter is nearly two and guess what she never had a nursery and now she doesn't have a room on her own. Her crib is temporarily in my room and so is her so called changing station, now her only closet. My brother in law is living with us sowe didn't really have much option for a nursery. But next year he's planning to get married and I'm so excited on taking his room for our daughter. I feel the necesity of having a room on her own to play and sleep in not just because I feel violating every parenting books ever written but also in order to store her growing toys collection and clothing which now is taking over our house. I really need the design because converting a single 30 year old man's room into a fun toodler's room is quite a challange.

I would probably choose the living room. Its such a hard room to place furniture and I am changing it all the time and am never happy. I would love to see what they had to say about it. ambrerose(!at)aol(dot)com
